We
have 15 years experience in installing decoders/receivers/sound
systems in all shapes and sizes of locomotives from “N” scale to
“G” scale. We also perform complete loco maintenance, repower/re-gear
and repair services. We guarantee all of our work for 60 days. Please
use the following table to estimate installation costs.
- Special loco/decoder/sound
installation combos available.
- Factory supplied lights used where possible,
if not, directional lights will be used.
- Add $10 min. for dir lighting and each function
output. Add $3/pin for plugs.
- All sound installations include speaker installations
and a 1 speaker.
- Smoke units installed starting at $49.00.
- Speakers, lightbulbs and smoke units are not
guaranteed.
- For brass models add $39 for dec installation
and $59 for sound.

DECODER INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS
All decoder & sound decoder
installation work is guaranteed for 30 days. To insure longevity
of DCC components, speakers, smoke units & light bulbs please observe
the following precautions:
- Set and maintain track voltage to minimum levels
for your scale.
- Remove or repair constant sources of short circuits
like faulty locos, rolling stock or bad turnouts.
- Set sound unit volume low.
- Use smoke units sparingly.
- Create a minimum of two power districts or a district
for every regular operator.
- Run locos at conservative speeds.
- Run mu's or consists with either matched locos
or use loadable speed tables to match locos.
- Insure that all locos in consist are running at
same speed step.
- Keep track and wheels clean.
