DT100R Radio Equipped™ Throttle looks like a DT100 Throttle but it has a shorter plug-in cord and has a radio transmitter inside. The cord is NOT the antenna! The cord is used to select locomotives and as a fail-safe device so that you won't lose control over your trains even if your battery goes dead. DT 100R will sell for MSRP $199.99.

Factory original DT 100's can be converted into DT100R's for $50.00 (including shipping and handling within the continetal USA). This radio retrofit must be done at the Digitrax factory because of FCC rules. Because we are expecting a very large volume of conversions and possible time delays, please don't send all your throttles at once. This will insure that your railroad is not down because you don't have any throttles to operate with. We will begin accepting factory original DT100's for conversion on or about April 15, 1998. When you do send your DT100's be sure to enclose a note with your name, mailing address, daytime phone number and a check for $50.00 for each throttle to be converted.

The UR91 is the radio receiver unit. The UR91 looks similar to a UP-3 and is mounted in the fascia of the layout. The UR91 is simply an addition to your existing LocoNet so no additional wiring is needed. The antennas are concealed under the layout. The UR91 will support approximately 10 DT100R's. It will retail for $149.99. Most layouts will need just one UR91 but in some large configurations a second unit may be needed to compensate for "dead" spots. This unit is also equipped for concurrent infrared operation which will be available later this year.

Digitrax Radio Equipped™ systems have a range of approximately 200 ft. diameter circle and operate in the 900 MHz band. Radio Equipped Throttles will run on fully charged NiCd batteries for approximately 6 - 8 hours and on regular alkaline batteries for about 10 - 20 hours. Each Digitrax Radio Equipped system can be assigned a system ID to allow multiple clubs to operate in close proximity at train shows.

Our projected release date for radio is late March 1998. We will release the radio equipped throttles and receivers as soon as we get the go ahead from the FCC. The FCC tests were completed January 19 and we will begin building units February 1, but we won't be able to ship them until we have the formal FCC certification paperwork. We will begin taking pre-orders for radio equipment on March 1, 1998.

The Utility Throttle UT1

A simple cost-effective throttle with one large knob for speed control and a direction switch.

Locomotives are selected with dial switches so that you can immediately see which loco is assigned to the throttle. Unique locomotive selection allows you to pick up running locomotives at their current speed.

The UT1 can control 4 functions. This throttle is perfect for casual users and for those who want a more "traditional" throttle. MSRP for the UT-1 is $79.95.

We plan to ship the UT-1 around the end of April 1998. We will begin taking pre-orders from dealers for the UT-1 on February 1, 1998 so let them know what you want as soon as possible.
