New DCC Starter Set from NCE Corporation.

One of the nation's leading producers of high performance, user friendly DCC systems, NCE Corporation, has developed the technology to revolutionize DCC by producing a very user friendly, advanced performance, inexpensive, DCC (TM) System codenamed Power House. This new starter set is suitable for all types of layouts from a simple 4 x 8 to large club layouts with/without computer control.

The integrated Power House unit combines a digital command station and a hefty digital booster into one compact enclosure, 7" x 4" x 2". The system also includes an ergonomical Deluxe cab with backlit LCD display and 2 new D102 HO sized decoders or N103 decoders for N-scale.

Power House packs more performance features per dollar than any other DCC system:

  • 14/28/128 speed step control for locomotives.
  • Support for the full range of locomotive addresses (0-9999).
  • User friendly simple plain English control of locomotives and accessories - no complex command sequences to memorize.
  • No computerese/hexadecimal conversion tables required.
  • Separate programming track output eliminates accidental programming.
  • No cab batteries to go dead, test or replace.
  • Easy locomotive or accessory programming on the mainline (Ops mode programming).
  • Unlimited consist size with advanced locomotive MUing (consisting).
  • The NCE cab bus is used by System One, Dynatrol Digital and newer Lenz systems (you can use cabs from any of these
  • manufacturers with Powerhouse). The NCE bus currently controls layouts with 30+ cabs operating.
  • Six different walk around cabs already available (two more coming).
  • Optoisolated power boosters eliminate "sneak path" short circuits that may occur with other systems when used with common rail track wiring.
  • The power booster has an exclusive ground fault sensing for automating reverse loops. It also has under voltage lockout, intelligent short circuit shutdown with automatic recovery, and regulated output voltage continuously adjustable from 10 to 18 volts.
  • Full Master Series capability (50 cabs, 250 trains) with upgrades, that are easy, user installed, plug in modules.
  • Basic system supports up to 4 walk around cabs each capable of controlling 2 trains for a total of eight train operation and control of up to 2000 accessories.
  • Compatible with NCE RU01 wireless cab upgrades and Dynatrol infrared wireless cabs.
  • Target release date is February 15 1998 or sooner.
