Easy Fix
Programming Switchers with PowerPax

Update : BLI Switchers sold by Tony's are equipped with an upgraded chip which solves the issue mentioned below.

For some item numbers of the recent release of BLI Switchers, reversing direction at other than zero speed creates a high current spike, 3-6 Amps, that is momentarily triggering the short circuit protection of some DCC Systems.

Here is a link to the BLI website that explains the problem and the remedy for users.

I raised this issue with Dan Yang, BLI General Manager several days ago, and I am sure BLI users appreciate his timely response and resolution.

We also did some further testing and found that oxidation on the truck axle pick-up shoes caused poor conductivity which further aggravated the issue. See full report here.

Although not official from QSI or Lifelike we believe that some of the recent GP9s may have the same problem and resolution.
