Broadway Limited has just released the RSD-15. Its unique Alco sound is prototypical and provides yet another sound dimension to contrast the EMDs and GEs.

Unlike the earlier BLI diesels the RSD-15 uses only one speaker. This has no apparent effect on the sound output, it produces as much volume. There is a new baffle system that probably accounts for this. The horn is the best fidelity we have heard from QSI, clear, crisp and as loud as you want.

The detail has improved compared to the SD40 and should please most users.

The RSD-15 has solid cranking power and runs smoothly. We were able to pull 18 cars around our 22" radius test layout with 4% grades.

There was no evidence of the over current reversing glitch exhibited by some other recent QSI equipped locos.
