To whom it may concern, I recently installed a DCC decoder into a friend's Lifelike Proto 2000 GP9. This appeared to be a new run of locomotive because it had LED headlights. This locomotive was also non-sound equipped. However you can see that the locomotive was designed to have sound.

Anyway, after installing the decoder, the rear headlight would not illuminate. The locomotive ran fine on DC and both front and rear headlights worked. After reviewing the electrical in the locomotive, it was necessary for me to reverse the polarity of the rear LED headlight due to the polarity on the DCC decoder. The decoder I used was the Digitrax DH163L0. Once I reversed the polarity of the rear LED, everything was fine.

Very best Regards
