Speakers

When you are mounting speakers in enclosures you have the option to mount them with the speaker magnet facing in or facing out. Facing out is better if you have sufficient vertical clearance, but do you know why?

Speakers - Innies or Outies

When the magnet is facing out you have a slightly larger enclosure volume generally producing better sound. You also have the terminations exposed simplifying installation and maintenance!

A magnet facing in benefit:
The benefit is that with the speaker cone pointed into the enclosure there is zero chance that an errant wire will contact the speaker surface and possibly kill your sound output.
