Use Caution with Radio Shack Speakers!

A recent magazine article showing a Soundtraxx installation specified a Radio Shack speaker. Our experience has shown that these speakers are rated for 0.1 Watt and will soon fail when used with 1.0 Watt outputs of Soundtraxx units.

We replaced all of these in early installations.

We currently use speakers rated at a min of 0.3 Watts and recommend a 5 Ohm, 1.0 Watt power resistor be used in series with any speaker rated at less than 0.3 Watts.

This is not a reflection on the quality of the Radio Shack speaker.
