New Lenz Starter Sets for Less!
The evolution of DCC continues to provide the user
with more performance at better pricing. Lenz's announcement today
is another milestone in this process.
Introducing the Set-90 and Set-100, our most advanced
DCC systems designed to-date with features and value second to none!
Shipping Early January.
In keeping with our design philosophy, both sets
feature very advanced operation with extremely easy-to-use operator
interfaces. Our design goal is to offer transparent DCC operation
enabling our users to concentrate on model railroad operation, rather
than having to become a DCC junkie in order to understand their
system.
Our systems are also fully upgradable as new features
become available. Users who purchased our systems in 1993 continue
to get the latest advances in DCC because of our philosophy to support
our customers by supporting their investment through low cost upgrades.
Both new systems are full featured professional systems
with loads of features at an attractive price.
Both sets feature our new LZV-100 integrated command
station/power station. The LZV100 has three micro processors for
superior performance and operation, includes all the features of
our popular LZ100, and includes an integrated power station that
can deliver a full 5 amps of DCC track power! We also now support
all forms of track wiring styles including common rail, two rail,
and home return.
The LZV100 includes our most powerful command station
software developed to-date with features such as advanced queue
management and an internal database that supports a roster of 256
locomotives.
In keeping with our philosophy of building long term
value into out systems, the LZV100 has the RailCom hardware built
in! There is no need to purchase a lot of additional system hardware
or perform complicated wiring to gain lots of advantages through
this advanced form of two way DCC communication. The final software
for RailCom is awaiting completion of the NMRA DCC WG specifications
and will be released as a simple software update in the spring.
Because of the distributed nature of our high speed
XpressNet, the features hat the end user sees depend on the devices
that are attached. The Set-90 and Set-100 only differ in the handheld
that is provided with the set.
Set-90 includes an LH90 an LZV100 and easy to read
manuals. The List Price for the Set-90 is $290!!! Tony's $229.95
The Set-90 supports 31 XpressNet handhelds, 4 digit
addressing, all forms of programming including our advanced one
step address programming and operations mode programming, layout
control feedback, advanced consisting, control of 256 locomotives
and 999 turnouts, and 10 NMRA DCC functions (F1-F8 plus F0 forward
and F0 reverse). Set 90 is ideal for those DCC users who enjoy the
feel of a smooth well designed knob.
Set-100 includes an LH100 an, LZV100 and easy to
read manuals. The List Price for the Set-100 is $349!!! Tony's $279.95
The Set-100 supports 31 handhelds, 4 digit addressing,
all forms of programming, layout control feedback, advanced consisting,
control of 256 locomotives and 1024 turnouts, and all14 NMRA DCC

The LH100 included with the Set-100 can also create
momentary functions on a per function per locomotive basis. XpressNet
devices such as the LH100, LH90, and XPA can all take advantage
of any available momentary functions once set up.
The Set-100 is ideal for those users who enjoy the
greater precision of push button control or for those that want
the most features.
To simplify the product selection and to make it
easier on our dealers, neither of our new sets includes a decoder.
Instead we provide a coupon that entitles the user with a choice
of one decoder for a $10 shipping and handling fee that can be exchanged,
when they send in their system registration card. ($12 US if shipped
to Canada, offer not available for overseas customers).
The first production is currently underway and our
first production unit has already undergone FCC and MRA C&I
testing. Bulk shipment to the US should begin in the next 2 weeks
