Broadway HO 2-6-6-4 Arrives

The HO 2-6-6-4 marks the second release of Broadway Ltd Imports (BLI). BLI revolutionized the HO loco market by announcing and releasing detailed smooth running HO loco with DCC and DC sound at a reasonable price and quality.

This release comes just in time to to bolster the BLI reputation as many schedule delays annoyed some users. Future planned releases are here.

The 2-6-6-4 is comparable to its predecessor, the 4-6-4, and has some improvements:

• The whistle is now playable which gives the operator the ability to play short or long notes or in between to better mimic realistic operations.
• The Load Compensation has been improved.
• This loco is heavy and really pulls. We tested it with 2 DRY CMX cleaning cars up a 4% grade with no problem. Three good heavy diesels would be required to do the same job! The die cast loco chassis is already pocketed for a smoke unit if you wish to install one. A Seuthe #5 will fit and has to be wired to track pickup.
• Special LEDS provide the directional lighting. These LEDS look like incandescent bulbs rather than the hot, blu-white of other white LEDS!

The abbreviated "Operators Manual" supplied with the loco has most of the info you need to operate on DC or DCC. BLI has added a pictorial section on maintenance that makes it easy for the user to follow. A complete version is available for download from the BLI website.

Our preliminary testing indicates that the 2-6-6-4 meets the specifications announced by BLI and it would be valuable addition to your loco roster.
